Coffee and chicory ice cream with chunks of king cake

Ingredients

4 Tbsp Fresh Coffee Beans

2 Tbsp Instant Roasted & Ground Chicory Root

2 1/2 c Heavy Cream

14oz Sweetened Conensed Milk

1/4 tsp Almond Extract

1 cup of King's Cake chunks

Directions

  1. Bring the milk up to scalding point over medium heat until temp reaches 180-185F
  2. Steep the coffee in the milk for 25 minutes.
  3. Add sweetened condensed milk and stir until smooth.
  4. Chill milk mixture for 2 hours or overnight.
  5. Church the mixture until ice cream is formed, roughly 45 minutes.
  6. Mix in king's cake chunks. Add the ice cream to freezer safe containers and store frozen for at least 2 hours before serving.
